Can one suddenly develop irritable bowel syndrome?
I’m a 26 year-old male and live a healthy lifestyle- I workout 3 times a week, drink lots of water, and I absolutely love fruits. For the past couple of days I’ve been suffering from painful bowel movements, added with constipation, bloating, and mild abdominal pain. At first I thought it was the creatine that I recently started taking, but it’s been about 4 days now and I don’t see any improvment even after stopping. Please help!

It could be your diet or IBS. IBS doesnt usually just come on strong. I have ulcerative Colitis and it started slow and would just get worse. I think that you dont have to worry just yet try eating more fiber I know personaly when I work out sometimes to hard it causes my stomach to get messed up. But if it continues to do what it is doing you def need to see a doc to find out why. But dont panic just yet and if it is IBS its not the end of the world. Millions live normal lives everyday without skipping a beat. Good luck!
IBS CAN come on suddenly and can be triggered by change in diet or stress. See your doctor. There are many medications and diet recommendations your doctor to can give you. Fiber is good for IBS so try to eat an increased healthy level of fiber as a starting point.
You need to see a doctor to determine if this is just a case of constipation or if you suffer from IBS.

I would stay away from the creatine. I had the same issues with it. I also found that when you have upset the equilibrium of your intestinal system it takes a while to right itself. (A good few weeks of clean living, maybe more). I’d also go easy on the fruits in the mean time.
