Can one actually carry around 5-10 pounds of "toxic waste" in their colon?
Colon cleanse products are frequently advertised on TV. Would one ever need to use them?I have no problem with regular bowel movements and was wondering if these advertisements were just scare tactics used in order to sell their products.

Sure they can.
Check out http://www.hsu.com. for info concerning this outside of the infomercial nonsense.
She is very reputable and local to where I live, so I know she is a real person…owns a chain of health food stores and often will come out and talk to the customers…
I don’t see why not since your intestines are, like, a billion miles long.
In Europe these companies would need to be able to prove their claims before they could advertise on TV. Guess what, none of these products (not one) is advertised on TV in Europe. Current research actually suggests colon cleanses are addictive and can cause immune system issues.
Nah. Humans are always finding something dirty about themselves, even in a waste system that (when healthy) works exactly the way it was intended to. But apparently if you live in California and have some money to burn, it’s fashionable to stick a hose up your butt. Whatever gets you off, I guess.
Considering our intestines are 35 feet long, it’s completely possible to hold that much waste in your body. With things like starches, they stick in our bodies for up to 14 days, so the more you eat, the more you get backed up.
