Anyone experienced sudden sharp rectal pains?
For the past 2yrs I have experience sudden sharp rectal pains, they may last for a few seconds and then go away. If I am sitting I have to get up immediately to sort of east the pain. I sometimes get them during my period. Has anyone else experienced this, if so has a doctor said anything about it. I understand that I should probably just go see a doc. I dunno if Im the only person who has or has had this happen to them.

I get it all the time, I find it is just worse when I’m on my period. My dr told me that it was gas and/or muscle spasms.
This may or may not be a condition known as Proctalgia Fugax…a very painful but incurable condition that happens both in men and women…it often occurs after orgasm but also for no reason at all. Go to your doctor and enquire about it. It is something I have suffered from for years and there is little I do but wait out the pain. It’s unbelievable and upsetting.
yes i have experienced this as well. from personal experience…it has always just been gas.but, you may also want to see a doctor as they usually know best.good luck.
I have experienced that during my period. I doubt there is something to worry about. I went to get a gyne exam and I am fine. I think it was just gas as the other person mentioned… Check with the doc to make sure everything is fine.
believe it or not i have and it hurts really bad so i know the pain you may have a hemroid use some hemroid ointment and if that doesn’t help see a dr
No, that has never happened to me, but I urge you to go to the doctor. My aunt has anal canal cancer, which is very rare, and thus, very hard to cure, and she put off going to the doctor for too long and is now in the midst of a difficult battle against it. Please just go to the doctor and hopefully it will be nothing.
This sounds like you may be having spasms in the muscles of the perineum (the area between your legs from the vagina to the anus). Often otherwise healthy people will get them. Occasonally, it can be a sign of other problems.
If you have no other symptoms from that area of the body (such as a change in bowel movements, bloody or mucously stools, vaginal discharge) and no other health symptoms, then you are probably one of those people that can occasionally get these spasms. The safest thing to do is to have your gynecologist check it out.
