My aunt has had severe crohns for about 5 years now. She has done all she could to avoid having surgery. Up until recently all the doctors had said she should get a colostomy bag and allow her rectal area to heal. She has several fistulas and a lot of scar tissue near her rectum. It has gotten so bad now that the doctors say, it would be best to remove her rectum and mostly all of her large intestine. She has been on imuran and remicade. They said they can not remove the scar tissue from her anal area, because it would leave her incontinent. Does diseased tissue have any chance at all to heal? I dont understand why they dont even try to do a reversible surgery? Why does such a drastic surgery have to be done? From what I have read, it sounds like, she will be in less pain though. No woman wants to have something like this done. It is just awful.
They said they can’t remove the scar tissue from her anal area because it would leave her incontinent. I think she should get a second opinion from another expert also.
colonix? i just bought 3 months worth of this stuff and now im having second thoughts? does it really work? for those who have tried it was it worth it and did you like it?
Besides fiber in your diet and lots of water, are there other foods I can eat or natural ways to cleanse the colon without pills, powders, or doctor’s visits?
Thanks, and please no ads…
i also have gastritis.i smoke marijuana every day, otherwise my symptoms get horrible, no other medicine helps my IBS and Gas Symptoms, i also have constant nausea. It stops all of this when i smoke.what steps do i have to take to obtain a license?how should i approach my physician ?my dad is willing to help me out at all costs with this too.
My sister died of colorectal cancer 6 years ago, last month her two sons was diagnose with familial polyposis, one of them the biopsy came out as malignant already. The only treatment for this we were told is to removed the colon and be on a colostomy for the rest of their lives, but they are still so young, 29 and 28 years old, no wife nor kids.
and I mean REALLY clean it of all the caked fecal matter, because form what I’ve heard a person can have something like 10lbs of fecal matter backed up in the intestine… any ideas?
I’m having a colonoscopy at 8:30 am and there’s an event that I want to go to that night at 7 pm. Will I be able to go or will I be totally groggy and out of it? I know I probably shouldn’t drive by then, but if someone else is driving?
I have heard the cleansing you colon can help with natural weight loss and is just over all healthy. Most sites that offer colon detox’s look very corny and fake. I don’t want to buy one. I would like to know if I can do this at home on my own. Or are there any that actually work?
Thank you for your help.
I am a vegetraian, i work out 5 days a week and i am a complete health nut. I want to get rid of the toxins in my body. Alot of my friends have used miralax and they say they feel amazing. I need a little info. PLEASE no ignorant comments!! thanks everybody!
What would cause rectal and nasal bleeding and should I go see a doctor if I’m in no immediate pain?
Sporadic. Been a few weeks now. once in a while (once a week) I either have blood in the stool or perhaps get a nosebleed out of nowhere (i.e. I was not "diggin for gold" up there).
I’m wondering if they’re even related…
Just wanted to add: I’m 22 (well, in 2 days) so not hemorrhoids. relatively healthy.
no, not gay so no anal sex (hence the SN), and from what I could tell, it wasn’t IN the stool. Just came with out with it.
wow. I hope you guys aren’t having lunch right now.
anyways, still curious as to what it might be, although I guess will go see a doctor (damn. I hate hospitals)
thanks for the comments.
This is what her doctors are saying could happen. She has Stage 3 ovarian cancer and has had 2 chemos so far but still has the bowel obstruction…should this reverse it? What other options might they do that they are not telling me? She can’t go home like this! Anybody have experience with this?
I’ve been having problems w/abdominal pain for over a year. I’ve had tons of tests done-no doctor can figure out what’s wrong. The main issues are a feeling of fullness, like a rock that’s stuck smack dab in the center of my abdomen, a couple of inches above my belly button. The fullness usually occurs after I eat and often is at its worst several hours after I eat. The feeling of fullness doesn’t go away for HOURS! Sometimes I feel like I don’t even get hungry because I’m still so full from my last meal. Sometimes I have pain, like a gnawing sensation. I also have problems with burping a lot (I never used to!). Sometimes the feeling is directly in between where by ribs meet. But more often it’s right in the middle of my torso, about 2-3 inches above my belly button. Please, if anyone has any idea what this could be, please please give me suggestions! Is this where my pancreas is located? My transverse colon? Pancreatic duct? I have NO idea, but it’s driving me crazy!
I have been seeing this stuff everywhere!!!!! I have considered it and have thought so much about it. I have a lot of weight to lose well mainly in my tummy from having children and it is the one place i cannot seem to lose weight no matter what I do! I have heard this colon cleansing is what will help you lose weight and clean you out. Is it true? Have you tried it? If so what brand and where do I get it?
I read about Beyonce loosing 22 lbs on this diet. I also read that you drink only water with maple syrup, lemon juice, and pepper.
Has anyone heard anything about this diet? Have you lost weight with it? Is the only weight you are losing from fecal matter that is stored in the colon? Do you lose any fat on this diet?
Also, wouldn’t you just gain all this weight back once you start eating?
what goes in the body?
what comes out? ( ive seen pictures on google, and i shock dont know what is is tho)
what does it do?
does it hurt?
throw out anything about it

I just bought this colon cleanser called almighty cleanse and I was wondering if anyone out there has tried it. I am supposed to take these pills every day and drink a powder drink 5 times a day. the drink is horrible. but on the infomercial, they said it was like a roto rooter to your bowels. I want to know if it is going to be worth my 90 dollars and worth the horrible taste of the drink. Anyone who has tried this please answer me.
For around six years my husband has experienced abdominal pain, bloating, cramping, constant diarrhea(multiple loose Bm’s every day during this time) with bleeding in sometimes large amounts. We have done cultures, blood tests, xrays, full colonoscopy, and biopsies for cancer. Everything has come back normal. He supposedly has no hemorroids, tears, or ulcers to explain the bleeding(which is bright red so it’d be lower?) After so many years we’re out of idea’s. Do you have any? My husband is only 23.
No…he has diarrhea. Not just now and then, but -every- day for six years… I think you may have skipped over some details…not to be mean or anything, but…
We had him tested for Chrohns but then again his doc seemed incompetent…
Thank you so much everyone. I atleast have a few new things to go on. Hopefuly theyll find something before anything serious like surgery. Thank you again all. ![]()
I’ll definitely try the metamucil. I wont mind him talking about it if it works. Hehe
I have 2 people tell me that this is possible based on their doctors’ statement. I think I’m being played. I know enough about the digestive system to believe that it is impossible. But I am the first to admit that I don’t know everything and before I call them on it, I’d like to give someone the chance to tell me they’re right, I’m wrong, and provide a link to proving it. Sounds like a nonsensical myth to me.
Also, which one is made worse by certain foods?
I try to eat gentle foods, but my stomach (right in the middle, over my navel area) hurts every day of my life. It has gradually gotten worse over the last 6 months. The Dr. tried me on Nexium which only helped minimally.
Any help/answer is appreciated. ![]()
colon cancer
My bowels come out the color of dark chocolate, or darker, and they are the consistency of pebbles, the size of marbles or slightly larger. Sometimes the pebbles are stuck together and as large as a tennis ball. I’m 31 and female. I try to ingest enough fiber and vegetables, although I’m not always successful. I have a movement daily, although small.
What is the best time to eat a high fiber meal such as oatmeal or other whole grain products? It helps reduce cholesterol by combing with cholesterol and fat, and then eliminates it from your body, but if that’s all you have in the morning, what good does it do on an empty stomach? Or, would it be best later in the day as your last meal, where it will, in a way clean up what might be left sitting in your intestines?
