I am receiving a colonoscopy soon, and would like to know the most common medicine given to relax you and sedate you during a colonoscopy.

I am researching Colorectal Cancer for a school assignment, and I wanted to know all of the body systems that were affected by it. I’ve looked at several sites and have gotten very little info on the body systems, though I’ve found other info that I was looking for. If you are a medical professional and know about body systems, I’d appreciate your help:)
I am only 14 years old and today i was diagnosed with colon cancer symptoms and im not sure what to do! I am very upset about it and feel that my friends should know about my condition.

And what shall i do to make my self feel better??

I am always constipated and feel like it would be a good thing. Any ideas?

I suffer from IBS, and it is really starting to take it’s toll on my social and family life. It only really affects me when it’s time to leave the house (when my adrenaline levels are elevated), and it is making me miserable. I haven’t been out to eat with my hubby and kids in a couple years at least, because the "flare ups" make me miserable and shake and sweat and I can’t possibly eat. I don’t have health insurance, so a doctor’s prescription isn’t an option. Are there any supplements that I can take or "home remedies" that will help me? Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. I’m willing to try just about anything to get my life back!
I’ve had this problem for most of my life, but it has gotten significantly worse since I had my gallbladder removed in December of ‘04. It is much more painfuul now (to the point I feel faint).
ive heard that detox diets can help clear out the colon and can make you feel better… as well as help you lose weight… is this true?
if so, what do i need to do in order to carry out this diet without spending money?
thanks.
Hi.
I’m a 20 year old female. Pretty healthy in general.
For the past month or so though, I have had a bad aching
pain in my rectum. This ach is always there and sometimes
I have cramps in my back or my stomach like I have to go
to the bathroom, but I’m not sure that I do.
In fact it kind of feels like I’m full and have to go, but
when I try I usually don’t.
I went to the doctor today and he felt up there
and said everything felt normal, but he
reffered me to a specialist just in case.
My appointment isn’t for a couple weeks and
I just want to know now if this sounds like
it could be something really bad cause I’m
scared out of my mind and can’t sleep.
Does anyone know what this could be?
Cancer came up on a google search for my symptoms, but I don’t have a lot of the symptoms of rectal cancer. But like… is it possible that’s what it is? Damnit, I’m way scared!!
I want a little jump start to shedding pounds and starting a healthier life style. I did a little reasearch on the above but i dont know what brands are cheap quick and effective.. I dont want to be on the toilet for a week or anything like that.. My goal is to lose weight, clean out my body and start fresh with healthier foods and exercise. Any ideas?

So I would like to try the Atkins diet in conjunction with vitamins such as flax seed, enzymes, or colon cleaners. Can anyone recommend one kind or the best thing to do?
If I went to the hospital to get checked for colon cancer, what would they do to me to find out? How do they find out? And about how much do you think it will cost? And if I did have colon cancer, what treatment would they tell me to take?
I’m trying to keep this question more general, what would they usually do? What would they normally do or recommend to anyone?
this is more extreme info,i posted a question about 2 diets last night and one response was to a link about a special"doule diet"The Acai berry pills and colon rx,and they said if you follow the links on the page, both sites would give you free samples,so stupid me(i am the most guillable person i know)went on and ordered with my card(just .95 for shipping and handling on both products)apparently RIGHT AFTER I ordered i stumbled upon another site stating by ALOT of people that it is a scam so i tried to call the # for colon rx and it is dead air, then for the acai berry pill they claimed it was after hours then today a # keeps calling and hanging up the second I pick up so hubby called back and it was the people from the acai berry place, but they had us on hold for 45 minutes before it cut off and "magically"got dissconnected, luckily i was smart enough to cancell payments on my card, but please do not fall for this, peopel have claimed that they take out the $ then the next day they both cahrge you for over ,and there is nothing you can do about it!Beware answers telling you about this!I tried to get on today to report the poster and the answer is magically gone!
its fun to rub the transverse colon?

My dad was diagnosed in 2005 with stage 3 cancer that had spread to half the lymph nodes in the area. After a resection (no colostomy), radiation and chemo, he held steady for a year. Then, his doctors found it had metastisized to his liver and the sacral tissue between the rectum and sacral vertebrae. He began another round of chemo which was highly effective but too toxic – he had to stop after 3 rounds. He starts back on a reduced dosage on Nov 4th.
My question is this – he is using chemo as a palliative solution at this point. The chemo is shrinking and slowing the growth of the inoperable tumor in the sacral tissue. At some point, he will be in severe pain again. Has anyone had experience with this sort of cancer and are there any palliative treatments available? He is already taking regular doses of morphine. Thank you!
I’ve turned 50 y.o. this year, conscientiously had a physical exam (all OK) and routine referral for colonoscopy screening. I have no symptoms of illness, am pretty healthy; but what I expected to be a routine colonoscopy actually found many polyps and prompted Dr. to make a referral for labs. Dr’s report said "The large number and variety of polyps is unusual." and that "genetic testing is indicated." Dr. had me back twice more, each time looked around in my colon and removed many polyps. The three colonoscopy procedures during past four months have found about 50 polyps, mostly pre-cancerous "adenomas" – tubular and tubulovillous per pathology reports; but no dysplasia nor carcinoma at present). Most polyps found have been fairly small, a couple 1.0-1.5 cm. Still some small
sessile polyps remain at present. After 3rd colonoscopy Dr. counseled that consideration should be given to genetic testing, "and ultimately colectomy may be needed." Dr. referred me for "FAPKM" genetic testing, they drew my blood and have sent it off to Mayo Clinic. This "FAPKM" testing seems pretty specialized – they are looking for a specific genetic mutation that might inhibit my colon from suppressing polyps. I have no known family history of colon polyps, no family history of colorectal cancer. Everything I’ve read seems
to indicate that a colon with 50 pre-cancerous polyps is serious,
whether the cause is genetic or "sporadic," and leaves me with the impression the colectomy option may (eventually?) be more likely needed than not. While I await test results I wonder, can anyone here explain likely range of outcomes for someone with my current condition?
I was diagnosed 6 months ago with Crohns Disease. By the time of my diagnosis, my colon had already abscessed and perforated and I had to have surgery to remove 3 feet of my colon. What symptoms should I keep an eye out for in order to prevent this from going so far again?

I am having excessive rectal bleeding (like a period). I am wearing a pad to catch the blood. I am also having abdominal cramps and back pain. i have extreme pressure in my rectum. I am not constipated or vomiting. Any "SERIOUS" info would be appreciated.
Need for a Science project and cannot find the answer anywher. Can you please help me by sending me useful answers, or send me a good website link which is even better!!!
Thanks
I’ve been dealing with stomach problems for 7 months now, and it seems like whatever I eat or drink (even water) upsets my stomach and I bloat SO bad!. I don’t have any insurance anymore, and I don’t want a huge doctor bill. I’ve had a bunch of tests ran to see if it was my gall bladder, but it wasn’t. Any ideas what to do next?
