I have heard a few things about lemon, and I drink senna tea (which works wonders), but I’m wondering if anyone has any good home remedies? I think I’m going to try a cleanse and a fast, to jump start a diet, is that safe?

Hey, this is my first post and I signed up do to my concern stemming from this issue. Lately I have noticed a lot of rectal pain the day after I have consumed a root beer float. I don’t eat other foods with them consistently and nothing out of the ordinary happens upon consumption. I also have no allergies or major health concerns that I know of.
For example, I drive over to my uncle’s house the other night and we enjoy some twister and watch the game. Then he always offers me a root beer float, his special concoction, which are always delicious. Then he dims the lights and we watch a movie, which I can never seem to remember. Then I wake up and I have pulsing rectal pain. I think the combination of the root beer and ice cream makes me sleepy and upsets my stomach. My uncle keeps telling me its the carbonation and leakage is normal among men and he wont reveal the recipe because he said it’s a guarded secret. Hopefully it’s nothing, does anyone else experience this?

I want to know about Advanced Acia berry Ultimafte Colon Cleanser, Bromolite, and Acia Berry Detox products. Please do not respond if you have a commercial engagement with these products. I have heard recently that Acia Berry is not safe.

I cannot go to the bathroom regularly and I have been to a doctor but they only suggest taking laxatives. Both doctors I have been to said same thing, am I losing hope because I am constantly feeling sick after not being able to go to bathroom up to 1 to 2 weeks at a time. I have tried fiber, vitamin supplements, probiotics, magnesium, healthy diets, i drink a lot of water, plus many more experiments including colon cleanse pills. Nothing seems to be helping and my doctors tell me because it is a problem with the funtion of my bowel muscles, there is nothing to be done about it. Any help? I’m desperate. Thank you!

My moms best friend has colon cancer and is coming to town for a week and i wanna make sure she has good food that isnt gunna upset her stumich or anything. What should i keep in mind while putting together a plan?

My son, 2 years old, has been complaining, for about two weeks now, of rectal pain. When asked what it hurts like he says, "it itches like I have to go poopy." It bothers him at all times of the day, but not all day long necessarily.

About a week ago I thought I noticed some blood on his stool, but wasn’t positive, so decided to keep watching. On Saturday, he definitely had blood on his stools and it was on the toilet paper when we wiped as well. I took him to urgent care and the doctor looked at his anus and felt inside. He didn’t feel anything or have any bleeding at the time. He decided to treat him for a yeast infection of the anus. Currently we are applying a mix of anti-itch hydrocortizone cream and Lotrimin (Athlete’s foot cream) three times a day for 5 days.

As of this morning, my son was still having pain and itching. He had a BM last night with no improvement from the day before and complained of pain while passing it. He has also, a few times, grabbed his abdomen and said,
"my body hurts." This has happened just randomly and while urinating. He has never had problems with constipation or abnormally large or hard stools. He has had a few unexplained, long lasting bouts of diarrhea in the past.

Any ideas?? We are supposed to make an appointment to go back if he is not feeling better by Wednesday. I am having a hard time with this diagnosis for some reason…
His stools are a normal texture/color. (not hard, black, tarry…) The blood is typically on the stool at the end of the movement. It is not drops of blood in the toilet, but on the stool. There also has been blood on the paper when we wipe that is bright red in color.

Well, sometimes I get these really painful cramps around my belly area. (rarely) Usually I only get stomach aches when I have to make a bowel movement. I admit, I don’t eat the most healthy foods but I only eat fast food once or twice a week, most times. I am a 13 year old girl by the way. I am worried that I may have IBS.

My uncle has lost one kidney and is likely to lose the other in the next couple of months. I have been reading about the benefits but have not read of any dangers relating to any situation such as this. Please only experienced individuals answer. This is someones life that is dear to me.

I started doing a colon detox this morning. I drank the drink and took one of the morning pills and was fine all day. I just took the 2nd pill dose and all of a sudden had a hot flash throughout my entire body. I also took 2 tylenol for my headache and a benadryl to help me sleep. My head hurts and I feel tingly all over! I am scared! I’ve just moved to a new state. I’m home alone with my son and I don’t know any of my neighbors! My fiance is out of town! I’ve had anxiety attacks in the past but this feels different. My whole neck and shoulders and down my arms tingle…. what should I do?

I have severe Ulcerative Colitis that goes up into my transverse colon. One doctor recommended surgery but I’m young and I want to keep my colon. Most other doctors recommend trying Remicade. I keep hearing of the side effects and I wanted to know if anyone has been on Remicade or knows people on Remicade and how they do on this drug.

What structures help increase the absorption of food in the small intestine? How do they do this?

I believe after research online that I have IBS. The symptoms started out as going back and forth with very soft to hard stools. Also extreme rectal burning pain that comes and goes. It is so bad sometimes I had started taking motrin, tylenol or Excedrin. I also noticed I have a small bump the size of a bebe on my rectum. Sometimes it feels like I have a cut down there and if urine hits it I want to scream it burns so bad. Lately I have been constipated and not going regularly. I have tried Preparation H but it doesn’t work at all. I don’t think I have hemorrhoids since it isn’t swollen…just the bebe size bump and feeling like a cut sometimes. Up until recently, I have never had issues with constipation and went regularly 3-4 times a day. when I wear nylons since they tighten everything up, I notice I have more problems with the pain. It isn’t non stop, but when it’s really bad I take the over the counter pain medicine that helps relieve it. I don’t have medical insurance so I can’t go to the dr. I think this pretty much covers most of it. This is obviously very embarrassing to talk about, but it is very painful sometimes and I don’t know what to do about it. Any help anyone can provide me would be so much appreciated. thank you so much!

what can a small bowel follow through show that a CT scan cant?

I have a friend who has some possible symptoms of colon cancer. He is 22, and says when he goes to the bathroom, he bleeds a lot from his anus. He went to the doctor and they said it looked to be an internal hemorrhoid. His symptoms come and go, so my question is, if it is colon cancer, would the symptoms constantly be present? or do they come and go at different times?
Also, he said it gets worse when he eats spicy foods, and drinks alcohol.

Need to cleanse colon, but don’t want to use a laxative. Need to know what is the best colon cleanser you can get.

A person very dear to me had colon cancer in 2007 and had a successful surgery to remove the tumor. She also had some months of coadyuvant therapy (chemo?). There have been further (clean) colorectal exams but I wonder which other exams are ordered in the first year or two following the surgery to guard against possible spread to other organs?
She has regular blood exams, every 6 months. Had recently (1 yr) a colonoscopy that came out good. But no CT scan which is what worries me.
